T.A.P. - Telephone Assurance Program

Do you live alone? Are you
just recuperating after a hospital stay? Do you want to
feel secure that someone is checking on you daily? If you
answer yes to these questions then the telephone assurance
program can be of service to you 410-939-5730
Telephone Assurance Program,
a free service daily person to person contact for seniors
who live in Harford County. The T.A.P. service for individuals
who live alone, are alone during the day, or have medical
problems but wish to maintain their independence by remaining
in their home.
The individual who participates
in this FREE service provides the T.A.P. service with a
medical history and an emergency contact person or neighbor,
who consents to participating in the Good Neighbor Program.
Their duties are to check on the well-being of the participant
when the volunteer with T.A.P. is unable to reach them by
telephone. A call back to the T.A.P. office is required.
All information provided is kept confidential.
State, county and local police
agencies participate in the program as an emergency check
in the event the T.A.P. participant or good neighbor cannot
be reached. Police officers in the participants jurisdiction
is contacted by the volunteer with the T.A.P. to check on
the well being of the senior and make contact with the T.A.P.
volunteer on duty.
