REHABILITATION THERAPY

Citizens
Care & Rehabilitation Center partners with the finest
rehabilitation staff and Rehabilitation Services, to manage
all aspects of our therapy program; thus, eliminating financial
risk and maximizing our program's effectiveness and the
benefits it provides our residents. They provide the highest
compassionate care when our residents need it (including
weekends) and provide the highest quality therapy services
and programs individualized to meet the special needs of
our residents.
Effective physical, occupational,
and speech therapies are offered at Citizens Care &
Rehabilitation Center, not only for our residents, but also
for those folks who only need short-term care. These therapies
certainly make a difference in a resident's quality of life.
Our therapy services are designed to enhance the dignity
and functional skills of each resident or non-resident,
while meeting all Medicare guidelines. In addition, other
skills are integrated into our therapy program, namely nursing,
activities, and dietary.
Working in partnership with those
who participate in our therapy program, we provide
the highest quality, compassionately and professionally
delivered rehabilitation program possible.
PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical therapy services
provide various forms of treatment to increase function
in regards to mobility skills. Treatment includes exercises
to increase range of motion, strength, coordination, balance,
endurance, contractive wound and pain management
-- specialized equipment available
for treatment of wounds
-- contractures include
(1) diathermy
(2) electrical stimulation
(3) ultrasound
Physical Therapy Department consults with other staff members
to provide a holistic treatment approach.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
The focus of occupational therapy is to maximize independence
in daily living skills. Treatment includes improving self-care
performance, coordination, balance, transfers, cognitive
skills, range of motion, strength, contracture management
and homemaking skills. The occupational therapy staff works
closely with all disciplines to optimize an individual's
functional status.
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
Rehabilitative services focus on remediating speech and
language difficulties ( such as slurred speech, oral-motor
weakness, aphasia, and cognitive deficits ). Speech Pathologists
also work on swallowing difficulties which involves teaching
the resident safe swallowing strategies, as well as, modifying
diet consistences and working closely with occupational
therapy and physical therapy for optimal positioning.
