In anticipation of Hurricane Sandy, we are preparing for the possible activation of our emergency operation plan. Weather forecasts are predicting Maryland to be impacted Sunday night through Tuesday with heavy rain, high winds & power outages.
- In the event of telephone outage or overload, Harford County Emergency Management has provided CCRC Security with a special radio that provides direct communication with 911.
- If power failure occurs, we can operate on emergency power for at least 48 hours. The generators provide power for several lights, misc outlets, Bay Lane elevator, Administration Elevator, walk in refrigerator, 2 walk-in freezers and our telephone system. Our emergency generators operate on natural gas or can be easily converted to propane that is stored on-sight.
- Our emergency plans are designed for sheltering-in-place however in the event the safety of our residents & employees is threatened, we would evacuate under the direction of Harford County Emergency Operations. The responsible party will be notified of the evacuation site as soon as possible, it may be after we have evacuated the facility.
- We have evacuation locations designated in our emergency plan however, if evacuation is necessary, we will rely on Harford County Emergency Operations for final determination of the evacuation site or sites.
Dear Citizens: From the Carrick family, we would like to say thank you. Mom was taken care of by very special people.
